Location
Geographic coordinates tell us our exact location on the earth. This is our absolute location. In reference to other places, we can also describe our location as relative. Location is the description of a specific point, sometimes shown through a land mark.
This GPS shows absolute and relative location
As the satellite tracks our location with respect to our programmed destination or our starting point, direction and movement are tracked to show our movement.
Place
Place refers to the area surrounding a particular location. It can be a particular building, a mountain, or a town.
Region
Certain regions are characterized by unique features that differentiate them from other areas. The Canadian Prairies are significantly different from the Rocky Mountains as they are generally characterized through their plain character while the Rockies stand out through their majestic, rugged mountain peaks.Different climates can also lead to different regions and often show themselves in vegetation differences
Human and Physical Environment Interaction
When humans log old growth forests, their actions will impact on the natural habitat of wildlife. The methods of logging will determine the amount of damage done. Excessive clear cutting can result in soil erosion, increased sediment load into streams, and, eventually climate change as well as species reduction.

Movement
Goods that are produced in one country are transported by different modes of transport to other regions in the world. The movement follows certain patterns that might be dictated by such phenomena as wind direction, location of jet streams, or location of ocean currents.
This diagram illustrates movement
Some areas in the world have been modified by humans in order to shorten travel time for important goods. Examples are the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal.
